Hello world! Our last update report was actually from august and boy, do we have some cool things to tell about. This is a big update which changes some major things and a huge bunch of smaller things.

Let's get to it...

New landing page!
New All in Favor!
Look at your profile page!
Or any favor!

Aren't those nice?

More info:

We think this is a good path towards the right look for Favor. The headings, the little details and the preview images are working great. There's still a lot of work and some problem areas (mainly the sidebar) but there's a very good feeling about this. Thanks Mikko for your help!

Speed King

More than 2000% increase in speed! It's more than the difference of night and day - it's from another planet!

Browsing different favors used to be sluggish and slow but no more! Now it feels like a normal page. The difference is very notable when scrolling up and down.

More info:

Web developers - beware the css box-shadow! That one line has cost us a lot. The shadow effect is very prominent on Favor and the box-shadow value (with blur) slows things down too much. Use .png -shadows instead. Live and learn...

No more confusion! Not only we have a new landing page but the very experience is more streamlined.

Go to favor.org and see for yourself; There's the video and nice login/signup fields which is a good way to start using Favor. New users: Remember you can be as anonymous as you like. Your email is just for us.

More info:

One of the most common complaints was that our front page was very confusing for visitors. Even for users that knew what Favor is about.

What is Favor about? What what what? Should I log in now or later? Do I have to log in? Do I click there or here?

Now that's hopefully in the past. Thanks to Puisto Advertising , we now have a new, beautiful landing page.

It has the video with little information and also big login/signup -fields.
After you've signed up, you will get to see the editor, like before. We think this will reduce the confusion of using Favor.

Soldier of Fortune

At the end of the day, there's only one feature which matters:

Favor allows creators to make money.

Not points, not "likes" or "friendme's" but real money. Money that can be used to pay the rent.

See that star in the corner of every favor? That means real revenue for the artist. Money that he/she/it(company) has made with it.

We've improved the interface and the information screens in User Panel > Favor Wallet.

More info:

Please read our Legal Documents , Certified Favor User Documentation and Favor Payment System description for detailed information.

"Content is the thing" - Joni Palosaari

The greatest guideline for creating web content. We have always said that if you can create an email, you can create a favor. At least that's something we're heading towards.

Our godforsaken piece of an editor has been blessed with couple improvements that should help people to create better favors.

More info:

The editor now strips away:
    - <font> -elements and others which conflict with nice layout
    - empty paragraph's (<p>&nbsp;</p>) - good riddance! If you want to create white space, use ".breath" -class on an element or just create linebreaks (shift + enter)

The text tools are hidden behind a button and the media buttons have been raised to the top.

The delete and reset -links are behind the X on the top right.

It's still far, far away from what we would be happy with but it's better.

By the way, we're developing a great alternative to this editor called "wizards". Those will allow to create specific favors (like #music) with a simple form. That way the appearance will be even greater! So stay tuned :)

The preview screen, the one you see before you release your favor, is now way better. It's now technically the "unpublished" -view which means that it behaves exactly like a favor except it is only shown to the creator.

The same Unpublished Favor -menu is on the top of unpublished favors in your profile page (sort by Favors > Recent).

More info:

This is an easy way to see which favors you are still working on / publishing later. It also is more logical and simple - where ever you see your unpublished favor, you can publish, edit or delete it.

The new preview fixes the confusion when the old preview had some minor differences between the final outlook.

It also feels faster...right?

Now you can set the publish date for your favors.

Create 10 favors and set them to be published daily - save time and still have an active page!

Access this via the yellow context menu on the corner of unpublished favor.

Aku, Aleksi & Tommi

The past few months, our development team has really been shining. Our interns Aleksi Kauppila, Aku Shemeikka, Tommi Puolamaa and Mikko Taipale have found a lot of bugs and given some great ideas.

Actually they've found so many bugs that some weeks we've done nothing but fixing them on and on. But the result is a service that works, that's faster and that's safer. So let's keep on fighting!

We're very, very excited for this update and feel that we've done great things. But we're not stopping so.. let's keep on moving!

Like always, please contact us with questions suggestions or anything:

Thanks for reading!

PS: There's something hidden here deep between the lines... The first one to spot it gets a RF = Rockin' Favor.

Noh.... vaikka se oli hauska niin se alko jo ärsyttämään.

+ aiheutti välkkymistä (käytti vissiin näytönohjainta)

Mutta no hätä! Laita tämä personal stylesheettiin niin saat efektin takaisin!
