Learn to use the Favor Editor and publish nice looking Favors with floating images etc. Duration about 9 minutes

Below are the main parts of the video in written text.

Pasting text to the Favor Editor

You can write your text inside the editor, but sometimes you want to paste it from elsewhere.

There's 2 different outcomes when pasting content:

1. It pastes it with formatting (for example Microsoft Word). Usually you'll still have to clean up and remove extra paragraphs.

2. It pastes it with "pre" -tag (for example TextMate). It looks kind of scary but don't worry. Just select the element by clicking the "select" word under the eraser and choose "paragraph" from the element menu.

Some basic tips

The editor automatically creates links (when pressing preview). http://www.favor.org  <- you need to have the http:// -part though.

Shift + enter = Linebreak. It's so useful!

Depends on your browser but at least on Chrome:
Ctrl/Cmd + 1 = toggles between heading 1 and paragraph. (change the number for other headings)
Ctrl/Cmd +  b = bold
Ctrl/Cmd + i = italic

Image aside text

Upload the image, then select it (click it, press "select")

Select "Image aside text" from the class -menu.

Nice!

Quote aside text

It's basically the same thing. Select the text you want. Make sure the text you want to be quoted is it's own paragraph. You can tell different paragraphs from the little grey border surrounding them.

After selecting, click the Quote aside text from the class -menu.

Very nice!

Textbox

It's the same thing. Select the element and click a suitable class.

Annoying "features"

For some reason, when pressing enter the new element has the same class as the previous one. It is kind of annoying but we've yet to figure it out.

The solution is to use the "select" -button with the eraser. Clean the new element of any classes.

Also, the editor hands out a lot of empty spaces and new paragraphs. Sometimes they're needed and sometimes not. It is definately something we're improving in the future...
